77 Anniversary

10 years on, we are recounting the story of the day of 7th July 2005 in an informative and sympathetic style. Using a timeline based execution, to structure an easy to digest format that scales well on mobile.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the London Bombings, Sky News created an interactive digital timeline. Designed mobile first but also for online use, users engage with the content by time, location, and individual, hearing the harrowing stories in interviews with those involved, juxtaposed with images from the locations and the editorial detail of the evidence acquired since the event.

Deliberately stark, it is both record and experience and emotionally engaging. 10 years on we are recounting the story of the day of 7th July 2005 in an informative and sympathetic style.

Creating a timeline based execution, the advantages being we can structure the day for the user in an easy to digest format and crucially it works well on mobile, our primary audience. Using exclusive video content, this allows for cross-pollination with TV and enables cross promotion. Including 3D modelling to show train carriage and bus examples with in-depth explanation.

This project won a D&AD Wood Pencil for Graphic Design in the Digital & Mobile category.
